A prevalent way to travel in Valdez - usually while walking a dog
Grilled brie
Meli is guarding the table - no bears or her brother allowed
A very pretty house on a hill overlooking the port - turns out it's a B & B - before you book, check out the reviews - a couple more complimentary are recent additions

so typically Valdez with the low clouds
I love the creek bed rocks
We'll keep him, take him home and call him "Skippy"
There's more snow on The Morning Mountain than I can see from the kitchen window
Sid, the office snake
The odds may be good and the goods may be odd, but these were 6 nice and not odd men
I know, one more mountain photo - but it is pretty
The sign in front of our gas station - guess who owes money? Also the local "hook-up" place?
A 139 lb "Russian Terrier" sans porcupine quills - I say he looks like a Portuguese Water Dog on steroids.
The end of the fishing day
We have all these neat rabbits running loose in Valdez - domesticated bunnies who are now wild. They are loved by most but disliked by those with unprotected gardens we're told.
Dave, the hawk man - he lives about a block from us
Dave's dog and his hawk - tying dogs "out" is legal here - don't ask.
Dave and his hawk
Tonight's houseguest, Violet, a very young Yorkshire Terrier who accidentally had a big fall. She's still very spacey but loved our baked chicken marinated in a pesto/yogurt mixture.
The puppy won't stay still when Meli is around. Meli is so gentle.

Many thanks for the Nature studies. Your pictorial journey is simply fabulous.
Am a little puzzled with Dave, Dog and Hawk - was the owner of the feathers consumed in full view?
Love the rabbits, nice and plump, do you think they'd bake them in white wine and herbs a la Francaise?
The movie of the bear is amazing. You know it's never too late to change vocation....
Please make sure Jeff finds another wild and wonderful place for his next posting.
Just love the stories.
