Mineral Creek Walk

Tomorrow is the kick-off for the 4th of July activities in Valdez - the fun starts with the distribution of the Pink Salmon for the Pink Salmon Cook-Off. After the judging, the town is invited to a free Pink Salmon Fish Fry. How nice is that? In anticipation of a weekend of food, we thought we'd take a walk on the path behind our apartment - this time going North instead of South to Mineral Creek.

Check out the sign below -
We haven't seen this much personal responsibility since ski tickets in Germany.

Below are photos of some very friendly Labs and their "Dad" -

The dogs' Dad said "Hey" instead of "Hi" but he wasn't from The South. Darn.

Now for those of you are begging for more mountain photos, here are two from our walk -

BTW, the horizontal planes of the mountains in photos 2 and 5 are the results of receding glaciers.

Now for our flora fans, a photo of "Jeff and The Giant Queen Anne's Lace"

and last, but not least, another view of the mountain from the "Morning Mountain Report" -
